WHERE: Spring Creek BBQ. *************** MEETING MINUTES The Tarrant / Dallas Rural Letter Carriers Association Local 076 met January 17, 2002 at the Spring Creek BBQ Restaurant in Irving. Jackie Glancy, Vice-President called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Gene Hollar led the opening prayer. Everyone was asked to introduce themselves. Minutes of the last meeting and the financial report were distributed. Both were approved as written. Chuck Moore asked that we observe a moment of silence in memory of the rural carriers that we recently lost, George Brandon, Clyde Cheshire, and the husband of Sandra Cogdell. Jackie reminded everyone that local dues of $15.00 for 2002 are due. Rebecca Hollar, TXRLCA Auxiliary Sec-Treas spoke about this year's health project, The American Diabetes Association, and encouraged anyone with diabetes to submit an article to the state paper. She also discussed the Auxiliary scholarships that are available. Peggye Ord, SWAC President, gave an outline of the upcoming Southwest Area Conference in February. Texas is the host state this year. Peggye reminded everyone that this is a great opportunity to talk to our National representatives and she encouraged all to attend. Chuck Moore was introduced as our local PAC representative. He spoke on some current legislative issues. A name was drawn for a $50 donation to be made to PAC in their name and a shirt was raffled for PAC. Patsy Black was introduced as our special guest. Patsy discussed postal inspectors, delaying mail and second trips, and distributed insurance exemption forms to be attached to your policy. Patsy talked about the Dallas manager's report and DPS mail. Patsy spoke a little about George Brandon and Clyde Cheshire and the memorial fund for George. She asked everyone to remember TXRLCA vice-president, Shirley Weaver, who is undergoing treatment for cancer. There was discussion about uniform leaving time in offices and carriers being required to take DPS to the street. Other topics of discussion were leave requests being denied, PTF implementation and scheduling, and the arbitration hearings. Several door prizes were given away. The next meeting was set for March 21, 2002 (tentative site - Golden Corral in Grand Prairie) Meeting adjourned at 9:00 PM *************** MEETING MINUTES The Tarrant / Dallas Rural Letter Carriers Association Local 076 met July 19, 2001 at the Golden Corral Restaurant in Grand Prairie. Victor Rodriguez, President called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Calvin Rasco gave the opening prayer. Everyone was asked to introduce themselves. Minutes of the last meeting and the treasury report were distributed. Both were approved as written. Peggye Ord recognized the State and national delegates from our local. We discussed the raise in national delegate pay and the need for change at the national level. Jack Davidson reported on the Constitution and by-laws at the State convention. Jackie Glancy announced the outstanding member awards presented at the
state convention: Victor Rodriguez reported on the resolutions at the convention. We discussed the need for more time in the future at our annual business meeting to fully discuss constitutions and by-laws and resolutions. We discussed formula offices the problems created. Chuck Moore was introduced as our local PAC representative. He spoke on some current legislative issues. Two names were drawn for $50 donations to be made to PAC in their name and a T-shirt was given away. Jenny Lewallen was introduced as our special guest. Jenny spoke about the State convention and the upcoming National convention in Atlantic City, NJ. and the Fall booster in Austin, Oct 6-8. Jenny gave updates on contract arbitration, no Sept mail count, counting aux. rts., rt. adjustments, casing equipment, State board assignments, and X day balances. A question and answer session followed. Victor discussed the possibility of one combined caucus for all states at the national convention. He also spoke about the four issues before arbitration; vehicles, salary, EMA and L routes. Several door prizes were given away.
